Best YUMI™ Lash Treatment Vancouver | Prép Beauty Parlour

Let’s talk lashes. More importantly, let’s talk the YUMI™ lash lift. Spring & Summer are right around the corner, and so are those beach dates!

The YUMI™ lash lift is perfect for those who love spending time in the water or gym frequently as you don’t have to worry about using specific face washes after (such as the lash extensions). It’s also the best lash enhancement option for ladies who love their natural lashes look when they’re curled.

Today we are going to answer some of our most frequently asked questions about lash lifts! If any of your questions aren’t answered, feel free to email us at info@prepbeautyparlour.com! Let’s get started!

Best YUMI™ Lash Treatment Vancouver | Prép Beauty Parlour
1. How long does it last?

The lash lift should last anywhere from 6-8+ weeks! Sometimes even 12 depending on your natural lash cycle and how fast your lashes shed and grow out! However, some ladies with grown out lashes may notice odd kinks- to solve this, we recommend applying the 3D Keratin Lash conditioner. This conditioner not only has keratin in it, but also conditions and keeps your lashes healthy and shiny!

2. Who is best suited for the YUMI™ lash lift?

The YUMI™ lash lift is suited for those who have strong, healthy lashes! If you have weaker or thinner lashes, we recommend you try out the lash growth serum EYENVY, to grow and strengthen your lashes before the procedure for best results! For those lucky ladies with long and strong natural lashes, the lash lift can look comparable to eyelash extensions!

Best YUMI™ Lash Treatment Vancouver | Prép Beauty Parlour3. Can pregnant ladies get the YUMI™ lift?

Yes! The YUMI™ lash treatment is 100% safe for new moms! However the new hormones surrounding the pregnancy may hinder the YUMI™ products from completely performing the service. If you decide to go ahead with the YUMI™ treatment, please do so at your own discretion, and understand there may be no effect on the natural lashes. (Unfortunately due to store policy, Prép Beauty Parlour is unable to offer full refunds for any lash services).

4. How should I prep for my service?

Before your appointment, please refrain from using any eye makeup or remove it before you come to your appointment. This it to avoid any extra added sensitivity surrounding the eye area.

For 24 hours prior, we also ask that you avoid using any growth or lash serums as this may cause the lashes to not lift during the service.

5. Can I get the YUMI™ treatment while I still have lash extensions on?

Unfortunately as the treatment is an enhancement on your natural lashes, the lash extensions will get in the way of the treatment. We also do not want to be adding the perm solution to any synthetic lashes!

6. Can I get lash extensions while I have the YUMI™ lash lift?

Yes and no. Getting a lash lift if you naturally have stick straight, or super curly lashes can help get your natural lashes into a good ‘curve’ and make it easier to apply lash extensions. However if you have naturally long lashes, then get extensions after the lash lift treatment, your natural lashes will be too curvy for the synthetic lash to be applied.

7. Is the treatment vegan friendly?

Yes! The YUMI™ lash lift treatment is vegan, non toxic, hypo allergenic, paraben frees cruelty free, and formaldehyde free!

[notice: Gummies sent by Nature’s Secrets- all opinions are based off those of Prép Team!]

The key to longer hair, healthier skin, and stronger nails: We all know about the millions of vitamins and other products that claim to make you your hair grow an inch a day, or pills that guarantee clear skin in a matter of days. But we often find ourselves asking, “do these really work?”, and more often than not, the answer is No, don’t even fall for that! So what is the secret to embracing your natural glow? We have just the secret for you!

Vancouver's Best | Prép Beauty Parlour

Introducing… Biotin! It has long been used in supplements and beauty treatments. So what does it do? Also known as Vitamin B, it is a nutrient that not only helps us maintain our hair, skin, and nails (It’s been proven to be effective in helping your hair grow faster, stronger, and of course, longer!), but also aids the body in metabolization of carbohydrates and fats!

So now that we’ve told you all about the beauty benefits and advantages of Biotin, I bet you find yourself asking- so where do I get it? Biotin can be found in many natural foods, such as nuts, soybeans, bananas, mushrooms, and egg yolk! However at Prép, we like to take it in the form of gummies! Our current favourites are Nature’s Bounty’s Women’s Line! Which they say is “created for women, by women, to provide a unique way to help support your natural beauty from within”.

YUMI Lash Lift Enhancement Vancouver | Prép Beauty Parlour

PREP LOGOSo you’ve heard about strip lashes, and lash extensions, but what about lash lifts?

We’ve discussed lash lifts a few times in the past, but we still get plenty of questions regarding the differences between the two lash lift services we offer, procedure, aftercare, etc. I know that when I get any special treatment, I love to read all about it! Even down to the ingredients they use! Are you the same? If so, let’s hop right into it!

First things first, a lash lift is not the same as lash extensions. It does not add length and does not require fills every 2-3 weeks. It is perfect for those lucky ladies with naturally long lashes that just point straight down. Or for those with many long lashes that are too heavy to stay in a curl. The answer to all your miseries? Yumi Keratin Lash Lift. Trust us, we’ve seen the results, and we’re in love! Essentially what the lash enhancing treatment does is bring out the best in your natural lashes. It will lift and curl your lashes so it stays perfectly curled for at least 6-8 weeks! (Of course, some of us have different lash cycles and thus, may affect the longevity of the lashes.) Interested in learning the process? Keep reading below!

If you’re a lover of lash extensions, then you’ll be very familiar with the first steps of the lash lift. Similarly, a gel pad is laid to prevent any of the lash tint to get into your eye. Certified Prép technicians will then apply a silicon bump to lay your lashes on. The sizes of the silicon bump can vary as it determines the curve and curl of your natural lashes. If you have shorter natural lashes, we would most likely used the smallest sized bump, if we use the largest one, your lashes would be flat (This is sometimes used in a procedure that relaxes the lash lift)!

During the YUMI Lash lift, your lashes will then get lifted and perming solution will be applied to each individual lash. The lashes now begin lifting/perming! A fixing solution is then apply over to hold the lashes onto the bump the proper amount of time. Lastly, the lash tint is applied to darken light lashes! Did you know that many brunettes often have blonde tips on their lashes? Tinting them help bring out the length!

The following information should be considered as our perspective through our own bodies and experiences and should not be construed as guarantee.

First, the VITAMINS! There are many compounds in our body that are vital for us to operate, and although our bodies are capable of producing many vitamins, there are also ones that we produce less of and thus can make up for it through the intake of vitamins! Here are the following vitamins and their uses on producing and constructing gorgeous lashes and skin:

  • Vitamin E- Vitamin E is essential as an antioxidant whose role is to repair as well as build tissue. It encourages hair and lash growth by repairing follicles and reducing any inflammation. Vitamin E is also found in many sun screens, anti-aging and lotions for dry skin products as it aids your skin in protecting and retaining it’s natural oils.

Foods high in Vitamin E include: Olive oil (Excellent hair masks!), Kale, Almonds

  • Vitamin C- Our bodies form collagen with the help of Vitamin C. Collagen is used in many cosmetic procedures and products as it is the main protein located in skin and tissue. It plays a role in strength and elasticity of your skin as well as lashes.
  • Foods high in Vitamin C include: Citrus fruits, Broccoli, Bell Peppers

  • Vitamin B- Vitamins play a vital role in maintaining metabolism. Essentially, Vitamin B is the “oil” that keeps our bodies running smoothly. Aside from metabolism regulation, Vitamin B is also found to strengthen and condition lashes during each cycle and hair.
  • Foods high in Vitamin B include: Fish, Meat, Poultry, as well as some fortified cereals.

  • Vitamin H (Biotin)- Popular in many beauty supplements, biotin is often used to encourage growth of hair and nails. As the building blocks of carbohydrates, fats and protein (amino acids), it is a vital vitamin help strengthen nails and hair
  • Foods high in Vitamin H include: Bread, Pork, Peanuts

Protein builds muscle, but having big triceps and quads won’t help with our lash and skin health! So why is this important? Well a special kind of protein is known as keratin. Not only does it protect our epithelial cells from stress, it is also the key component that makes up hair and skin! Keratin is often infused in many hair products to help strengthen and coat the hair. Similarly, keratin can be used to build and nourish stronger lashes!

  • Foods that contain protein include: Steak, Eggs, Whey Protein

As weird as it may sound, if you often find yourself with little hair loss situations, iron deficiency may be the culprit! When you don’t have enough iron in your body, your body will go in to it’s most basic functions mode. Meaning keeping your luscious locks might not be as important as other vital organ functions! Low iron levels mean hair loss which ultimately mean lash lost too!

  • Foods that contain iron include Spinach, Beans, and Peas.

Lastly, calcium! Calcium is another essential food that every beauty queen should be eating! OK! So maybe ice cream might not be too bad if it helps…right? Although calcium is not the sole secret ingredient to hair growth, it does make an impact on your hair ( and lashes!) if there is an imbalance. Aside found in teeth and bones, calcium is also found in hair follicles. Balanced calcium level means healthier follicles, which translate to healthier lashes and hair!

  • Foods that contain calcium include Milk, Yogourt, Cheese, Ice Cream (!!!!!!!)

Got any more questions or comments? Be sure to leave them all below! Happy eating ladies!
