We are so excited to be part of the YUMI™ family and provide more services to cater to all of your needs! Now let’s move on and explain what the hype with the YUMI™ Lash Treatment is!

For starters, any YUMI™ Lash Lift with Keratin Treatment can only be performed by a certified YUMI™ technician. The process is similar to our regular lash lift (Keep reading to learn about the process!), however, the revolutionary YUMI™ is designed to have greater benefits to natural lashes with minimal to no damage.

What’s the process of a lash lift you ask? Although it may sounds scary, a lash lift is essentially a painless and safe way to semi- permanently curl your lashes! It’s perfect for ladies who fear the lash curler (guilty!!), have lush, long lashes that droop down, or just any ladies that love the way their lashes look curled! A lash lift eliminates the need to curl your lashes every morning, leaving you to wake up with already curled lashes! Flawless! For more on lash lifts, click HERE!

The process is simple. Your Prép technician will prep the surface and lay a gel pad to ensure none of the solution will touch your skin, baby lashes, etc. A silicon bump is then laid on top for your top lashes to sit on top. The larger the bump– the bigger and looser the curl and vice versa! It should last you from 4-6+ (We have gotten 12 weeks too!) weeks depending on your natural lashes and lash cycle!

So what is the difference with YUMI™? YUMI™ lift uses advanced technology and technique to lift all of the lashes individually. This allows your lashes to appear longer, fuller, and darker!

What does it mean when you get a YUMI™ lash lift? Unlike lash extensions, you don’t have to worry about getting fills, removals, or any touch- up treatments! There is no maintenance, no parabens, and no harsh chemicals!

After receiving the treatment we ask that you don’t touch water for at least 24-48 hours. After, you can proceed to go swimming, play sports, enter a sauna, and still continue to use makeup and eye creams that contain oils! With the YUMI™ lashes, you are able to sleep in any position without worrying about your lashes crimping, wash your face- using cotton pads directly on the eye

Microblading Downtown Vancouver | Prép Beauty Parlour

If you’re like us at Prép, then you know all about our love for our GO-TOs, Anastasia, Bobbi, and Stila! That’s right ladies! Today we are talking EYEBROWS! And YES, we do love our goodies from Sephora, but today we have some more even exciting abrowzing news to tell you! 👀 👀 Ladies! Prép Beauty Parlour would like to formally introduce Cosmetic Tattooing! With all this rave about cosmetic tattoo, and in particular, microblading, we get the famous questions– what IS it really?

Simply put, microblading– is a form of cosmetic tattoo. Although semi-permanent, it is still a process of inking. Meaning that colour pigments are implanted beneath the first layer of your skin. There are more than one type of tattooing for eyebrows, the other type being ombré or powdered tattoo, but today we will be diving into the specific microblading! Microbladed brows are created with the use of sterile and disposable needles (of course!). Your Prép technician will use a hand tool to create realistic looking brow hairs that will blend naturally into your brows.

Our new Prép technician, Vicky N, is here with us today to answer some of the most frequently asked questions! Let’s goooooooo!

♡Does it Hurt?

One of the most frequently asked questions are, Does It Hurt? As it is still a type of tattooing, yes, we will be honest, it will hurt! But will it hurt a lot? Subjective! Although some ladies would rate it a 4-5 on a pain level of 1-10! During the tattooing process, topical numbing creams and ointments would be applied to lessen the pain- some don’t feel a thing!

♡How Long Will It Take to Heal?

Healing time varies with different people- however, generally people will notice change between 7-10 days. After your initial appointment, your new brows will continue to darken over the next 2-3 days. Like a normal tattoo, scabbing will begin on day 5, and should be gone by day 10 (no scratching or picking!!). The true colour of your brows should appear approximately after 3-4 weeks! So if some of the brows are looking light– don’t worry! Just wait it out! Vicky tells us that brows will lighten between 30-50% by the time it is fully healed!

♡Is it Permanent?

Although it is a tattooing procedure, a touch-up is required and recommended 6-8 weeks after your initial visit! Lucky for you- Prép queens receive a complimentary touch-up if it is booked within 6-8 weeks!! For best results, we recommend our clients to come for their touch- up o we can ‘tweak’ any sparse areas on the brow that didn’t retain colour properly! ♡Aftercare

Remember ladies! Microblading IS a form of tattoo after all! Proper after care & maintenance is required to keep them looking as bold as Cara Delevigne’s! Vicky warns all ladies not to work out or get them wet for the duration of the first week! It is crucial to keep them dry and not contaminated or touched by elements. Such as the sun, facial treatments, etc! Just until all of the scabs have naturally– (note we said naturally!) fallen off! Prép will give you essential ointments and of course, more after care instructions to ensure your brows stay bold!

With eyelash extension and false strip lashes trends blowing up nearly all of 2016, people are looking for better ways to enhance the look of their lashes! Some people love the all-glam, dramatic set of MINK lashes. While others steer clear of glam and settle for a set of natural, wispy set of strips or just mascaras such as the L’ oreal Telescopic– mascaras that elongate lashes. For those who prefer more of a semi-permanent solution, lash extensions, (click HERE and HERE to read more!), would be the way to go.

Now there are also many people who are naturally #BLESSED with long and luscious lashes, who might want to opt for an option that brings out the best in their own lashes. So here we talk about lash lifts, both our regular lifts AND YUMI™ lash lifts again!

A “LASH LIFT” is the best quick and painless way to semi-permanently curl your natural lashes! Wear less makeup, and just add mascara if you want to thicken up! No need for eyelash extensions but can always add extensions for the extra boost of volume if you like!

Lately at Prép, we have been receiving calls from a lot of men who ask if we have a solution to their long, but straight, pointing down lashes. and yes! As long as you have eyelashes, a lash lift– regular or YUMI™, can be performed! Great! Lash lift works on everybody! Intimidated or intrigued? Don’t be! Allow us explain the easy and absolutely painless process of lash lifts really quick!

Similar to the prép steps for eyelash extensions, a gel pad is laid onto the bottom baby lashes. Now to find the perfect curl and curve of the lashes, we use structured and curved silicon pads that are placed on the eyelid. These curved pads come in ton of different sizes and slopes to create different lash curl looks. This is similar to the different curls of eyelash extensions we offer (B, D, C, etc). The larger the raise on the silicon pad– the larger the curve of the lashes, meaning that if you go for a smaller raised bump on the pad, you will have more lift.

Your Prép technician will carefully observe and select the correct size so you leave with the look you desire! Gently lifting the top lashes, we adhere the lashes to the curve of the pad. After the lashes are adhered to the curve, your Prép technician will then apply a perm gel as well as setting or top gel so your lashes stay freshly curled for 4-6 weeks! (Time will vary depending on your own lashes, weather conditions, etc).
